Dermal Fillers

Dermal Filler (also known as just “filler”) is a non-surgical way to enhance your youthfulness and restore facial volume loss. It allows the injector to create facial contours, add volume to lips, and add volume to areas such as: cheeks, chin, jawline, and even give you a brow lift! Our injectors can create a plan that will bring out your ‘best face’ by adding volume to specific areas.

Dermal Fillers

There are many dermal fillers on the market. Our personal favorite is the Revanesse line, but there are many brands that offer a large selection of Hyaluronic Acid based (HA) dermal fillers. These companies include Juvéderm®, Restylane®, Perlane®, VOLUMA™, and Teosyal®. HA fillers are made up of a synthetic compound that acts very similar to natural HA. Within each one of these brands, there is a line of various filler selection. Although they are all HA based, they are used for different areas of the face. For example, a thicker HA filler is used for adding volume to areas such as the chin and jaw, while a light filler is used for areas such as lips and under eyes.

What can be done with dermal filler?

Lip Augmentation

Lip Fillers are very popular, especially at Mirror, where Nurse Yara has her very own technique that adds vertical height while still maintaining a natural look. Numbing is applied to the lips prior to injecting, helping to make the process a comfortable one!

Cheek Augmentation

Filler is the second most popular procedure done at Mirror. This is customized to your needs and can be done in a way to give your face an overall tighter appearance. It can also be used to replace volume loss and contour the face. Filler could be added to the entire cheek area or in very strategic areas to achieve the desired effect.

Skin Sagging/folds

By lifting the face up in strategic areas, we are able to lift up sagging skin. Some folds can also be corrected using dermal filler in the area. These folds include Nasolabial folds (laugh lines), Marionette lines, Lipstick lines (smokers’ lines) or as we like to call them “kissing lines”. Kissing lines are the vertical lines that appear above the lips as we age. They appear for many reasons but the one most common reason is smoking.

Chin Filler

Similar to cheek filler, chin augmentation is used to contour the face and add more facial dimension to the overall face. Ask our team if this the right treatment for you!

Non-surgical rhinoplasty

YES, we provide nose filler. This is great for those of you who don’t love their side profile. It can correct a downward turned nose tip or a small hump that is noticeable from your side profile. Contact us to see if you are a good candidate for non-surgical rhinoplasty.

Jaw Line Filler

By adding filler to the jawline you can create a narrowing effect that adds femininity to the face, or the opposite! Many men come in for a more structured jawline to achieve a more masculine face shape.

Under eye filler

Do you find you look tired all the time or you have excessive hollowness and darkness under your eyes? If so, this could be the perfect treatment for you. Under eye filler helps to improve the appearance of under eye hollowness and is sometimes combined with PRP to give your under eye a boost of collagen. This not only helps with your dark circles and hollowness but also adds hydration to the under-eye area, making you look rejuvenated and awake!

With Dermal fillers, results are noticed right away! But expect swelling and bruising for the next few days after your treatment. On average, it takes 2 weeks for the area injected to fully heal.

Hands down the cutest and most professional person I have met. Yara made me feel super confident and comfortable for the first time getting lip fillers. It took me 2 years to find the right person and I’m glad I found her. Obsessed with my lips now and they used to be one of my biggest insecurities! Thank You Yara.

First time getting lip injections and I’m sooo happy with the results. I was super nervous about the whole thing but through every part of the experience she was professional and friendly and communicated everything to me perfectly! By the time I was in the chair I was not anxious anymore and it didn’t even hurt that bad at all. Would recommend her.

FAQ

Most frequent questions and answers
Dermal fillers can be injected in certain areas of your face and it is a gel-like substance which is hyaluronic acid based. This is a naturally occurring substance in the body. Dermal fillers can be used to add volume, to contour the face as well as correct any wrinkles or lines.
Unlike botox, dermal filler does not result in the inability to contract muscles. Botox freezes the muscles in order to stop creases and wrinkles from happening. Dermal filler on the other hand is used to fill in areas of the face.
You can only mix fillers if both brands of filler are hyaluronic acid based. However, after many treatments the best option may be to dissolve the filler and start fresh.

Legally you must be 18 years old, otherwise you need a parent or guardian present. That being said, you can start getting filler whenever you feel you need it. The older in age that you are, especially if you are new to fillers, it may be harder to reverse the signs of aging and you would need more filler than someone that has kept up with their filler treatments for years. The deeper the wrinkles, the harder it will be to fill them and you will require more product.

Your injector will always go over the risks of dermal filler with you prior to your treatment. Swelling ,bruising ,tenderness and mild asymmetry will almost always happen immediately after a dermal filler treatment however it is completely normal. Other more serious risk factors include infection, occlusion of blood blood flow or loss of tissue. Your injector will try their best to prevent the serious risks and they will have knowledge on how to spot the signs and symptoms of these risk factors.
Since filler can last anywhere from 6 months to a year , the amount of treatments you get will be up to you and your injector. You can choose to stop getting filler at any time. The number of treatments will depend on your personal desired results.
When you come in for your dermal filler procedure you will be filling out an information form as well as consent forms. Your injector will do a consultation before starting the treatment and any questions you have will be answered. Your picture will be taken for your injector’s records and you will be numbed. Dermal filler treatments can take anywhere from 30 min- 1 hour depending on the area. After your treatment you will be given an ice pack and you will be given post-treatment instructions.
Naturally , your skin will slightly stretch when the filler is injected, however it will not be saggy because by the time the filler naturally metabolizes your skin will adjust.
Dermal filler can last anywhere from 6 months to a year depending on the person and how fast their body metabolizes the filler.
ABSOLUTELY! Have you seen our team? Some like it natural and some prefer a little more, we cater to both looks!
