ALL ABOUT LIP FILLER: HOW MUCH, HOW PAINFUL, HOW LONG THEY LAST …

 Lip augmentation has become increasingly popular after the infamous Kylie Jenner got her lips done. Ever since, it has blown up, and now everyone and their neighbour has had lip filler. It is no longer a taboo to share your experience, and so there are many YouTube videos and blogs all about lip filler experiences on the internet! Considering it is what we have become very famous for, we have decided to dedicate a page just for Lip Filler.

HOW MUCH DO LIP FILLERS COST?

Lip fillers can cost anywhere from $500-$900 depending on the product that is used and where you go. Our price lies somewhere in the middle, and we tend to stick to Revanesse products, because they are our personal favorite. There are many products out there that are also used for lip injections, such as Juvéderm, Teosyal, Restylane, stylage and more! These are all hyaluronic acid-based fillers, which makes them a safe choice with less side effects than the more permanent options that used to be on the market years ago.

HOW LONG DOES LIP FILLERS LAST?

Hyaluronic acid based dermal fillers typically last between 6 months to a year. This really depends on the individual, but a lot of factors come into play when wondering how long your lip filler will last – metabolism rate, lip movement, hydration levels, amount injected, product injected. Fun Fact: Under eye fillers tend to last the longest because the under-eye area moves a lot less than all your other facial features.

DOES LIP FILLER HURT?

Just like anything involving a needle, it is uncomfortable. Depending on each individual’s pain tolerance the experience varies and most often is described as tolerable. Our numbing agent is one of the strongest on the market, it is left on for 15-20 minutes and then your lips are cleansed with a surgical cleaning solution before your treatment starts. In addition to the topical numbing, the filler itself contains lidocaine (the numbing agent), so as the treatment is going on, the less painful it becomes. An added bonus is that the procedure itself is done fairly quickly!

HOW MUCH LIP FILLER DO I NEED?

When you come in, share with your injector what your ideal lips look like. You can share images from your favorite celebrities or even your lips in a filter that you like! Trust your injector to do the rest.

RUSSIAN LIP TECHNIQUE?

The technique used is typically different for every client; we all have different lip shapes and so every lip needs to be treated uniquely. We are commonly asked if we offer the Russian lip technique so I wanted to clarify this. The Russian lip technique is not just one technique it can be many different techniques that aim to achieve a similar “Russian lip”, which is a flat side profile with added vertical height to the lip. At Mirror, nurse Yara has come up with her own modified Russian lip technique that is used by our injectors and is always customized to suite your goals and your unique lip shape.

KEYHOLE LIPS/POUT?

Another common shape we get asked about is the Keyhole pout. This is when you have a small space between the centre of your top lip and the centre of your bottom lip. This can also be achieved using multiple techniques. Your injector will do what they believe works best to achieve a keyhole on your lips.
