Search "lip filler Toronto" and you get hundreds of options, a dozen specials and a wall of identical before and afters. None of that tells you who should be holding the needle. This is the checklist I would hand a friend.

Why choosing is harder in Toronto
Toronto is not short of lip filler. It is short of a way to tell the options apart. Every clinic shows glossy results, every clinic says "natural," and price ads compete on the one number that tells you least: the cost of a syringe.
Meanwhile the city runs on trends. The lip shape that reads as current this year will date, and the people who end up dissolving filler are rarely the ones who chose badly on purpose. They chose quickly, on price or on a photo, without anyone looking at the rest of their face.
Lip filler is a decision about a person, not a product. So the questions worth asking are about the person.
The eight point checklist
- Check their registration yourself. Ask for the injector's full name and designation, then look them up. Nurses and nurse practitioners are on the College of Nurses of Ontario's public Find a Nurse register; doctors are on the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario register. In Ontario, nurses inject under an order from a physician or nurse practitioner. If someone cannot tell you which college they answer to, the conversation is over.
- Ask which product, by name. A good clinic tells you the brand and the specific product before you sit down, and opens a sealed syringe in front of you. We use hyaluronic acid fillers such as Revanesse, Juvéderm, Restylane and Teosyal, matched to the lip. "Our filler" is not an answer.
- Ask how much they plan to use, and why. Some lips need half a syringe. Some need a full one. A clinic that only sells whole syringes, or quotes a package before seeing you, is deciding your dose by the menu, not your anatomy.
- Watch whether they look at your whole face. Lips sit on a chin, a jaw, teeth and a mid face. If those were never assessed, volume gets added to a face that needed structure, and the lips are simply the part everyone notices. A good injector looks at your profile before they look at your lips.
- Ask what happens if something goes wrong. Lips are surrounded by arteries. The right answer names hyaluronidase (the enzyme that dissolves filler) kept on site, a vascular occlusion protocol, and a way to reach the clinic after hours. Vague reassurance is the wrong answer.
- Ask to see healed results. Day of photos show swelling, not results. Ask for photos taken weeks later, ideally of lips similar to yours, and judge restraint as much as shape.
- Ask about the review appointment. Lips settle over about two weeks. The honest approach is to place less than you asked for, then review and add if needed. If a follow up costs extra or does not exist, the incentive is to do everything on day one.
- Ask who will inject you next time. Your injector should remember what was placed, where and how much. High volume clinics rotate staff. Continuity is how a second and third appointment get better instead of starting over.
What lip filler costs in Toronto, honestly
Toronto pricing has a wide spread, from specials under $300 to well over $800. A very low price usually means one of three things: a small amount of product, a product you have not been told the name of, or an injector building a portfolio. Each can be legitimate. You should simply know which one you are buying.
For a deeper breakdown of what actually moves the number, read how much lip filler really costs. The pricing is the same at both of our clinics.
Red flags worth walking out over
- No consultation, or a consultation that is really a sales call.
- Treatment in a home, a hotel room or a pop up, or "lip parties."
- No answer about hyaluronidase or what happens in an emergency.
- A price that only makes sense if you buy two syringes today.
- Pressure to decide before you have had time to think.
- An injector who agrees with every request and never says "not yet."
You can always add. Taking filler away costs time, money and an enzyme.
If you already have filler you are unhappy with, that is very common, and it is worth an assessment rather than more product. We wrote about why filler does not ruin faces, but bad technique does.
How we do it at Mirror Yorkville
Our Toronto clinic is at 190 Dupont St, between Yorkville and the Annex, a short walk from Dupont station on Line 1, open Tuesday to Saturday from 10 to 6. Lips there are injected by Nurse Jasmine, RN, registered with the College of Nurses of Ontario and trained in the same assessment first method we use in Milton.
Every lip appointment starts with your whole face: profile, chin, tooth show and the shape of the lip itself. Where lips really are the answer, we undertreat on purpose the first time and see you again once the swelling settles. Where they are not, we will tell you, even if lips are what you came in for.
Full details, pricing and booking are on our lip filler in Toronto page. If you prefer to see Nurse Yara or want the Mini Lip by Nurse Andra, those are at our Milton clinic.
Questions we hear every week
How much does lip filler cost in Toronto?
Prices in Toronto vary widely, from advertised specials under $300 to well over $800. At Mirror's Yorkville clinic at 190 Dupont St, lip filler runs $350 to $650 depending on the product and how much your plan needs, after a $100 consultation that is credited toward treatment booked within 30 days.
Can a nurse inject lip filler in Ontario?
Yes. Registered Nurses and Registered Practical Nurses in Ontario can perform cosmetic injections when there is an order from an authorized prescriber, such as a physician or nurse practitioner. Every nurse injector should be registered with the College of Nurses of Ontario, which you can check on the College's public Find a Nurse register.
How do I check if my lip filler injector is licensed?
Ask for their full name and professional designation, then look them up on the public register of their regulatory college: the College of Nurses of Ontario for nurses and nurse practitioners, or the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario for doctors. If they cannot tell you which college they belong to, do not book.
How long does lip filler last?
Typically six to twelve months, depending on your metabolism, the product used and the amount placed. Hyaluronic acid filler can also be dissolved with an enzyme called hyaluronidase if it ever needs to be reversed.
Who injects lip filler at Mirror in Yorkville?
Nurse Jasmine, RN, at 190 Dupont St, Toronto, between Yorkville and the Annex. She follows the same conservative, assessment first approach as Mirror's Milton clinic, and a review appointment is included so anything can be refined once the swelling settles.
Want your lips assessed before anyone injects them?
Book a consultation at 190 Dupont St. You leave with a plan, a real price and an honest opinion, including "not yet" if that is the right answer. The $100 fee is credited toward treatment booked within 30 days.
