Mirror by Nurse Yara ("Mirror", "we", "us") operates this website and two clinics in Ontario. This policy explains what personal information we collect through nurseyara.ca, why we collect it, who we share it with, and how you can control it.
We follow Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and Canada's Anti Spam Legislation (CASL). Personal health information held in our clinical records is separately governed by Ontario's Personal Health Information Protection Act (PHIPA).

We only collect what you choose to give us. That includes:
Some pages send you to Jane, our booking platform, to complete an appointment. When you book there you are giving your information to Jane under Jane's own privacy terms, and it flows into your clinical record with us.
Like most websites, ours records basic technical information so we can understand what is useful and what is not. This includes your approximate location, device and browser type, the pages you viewed, how long you stayed, and the site or ad that referred you.

Both use cookies. None of this is used to identify you personally on this website.
We do not collect medical or health information through this website. Please do not send us details about your health, medications or medical history through a web form or by email. Health information is collected in clinic, during your consultation, and is stored in our secure practice management system under PHIPA.
We do not sell your personal information. Ever. We share it only with the service providers we need to run the clinic, and only to the extent they need it:
Some of these providers store data outside Canada, which means it may be accessible to foreign courts or law enforcement under the laws of that country. We may also disclose information where the law requires it.
We only email you if you asked us to. Every marketing email has an unsubscribe link at the bottom and it works immediately. You can also reply to any message or write to info@mirrorbyny.com and we will remove you.
Appointment confirmations and reminders are not marketing. You will keep receiving those while you are a patient.
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings at any time. You can also opt out of Google Analytics using Google's browser add on, and adjust ad tracking in your Meta account settings. The site works fine without them.

Website enquiries are kept only as long as we need them to follow up with you. Clinical records are kept for the period required by the College of Nurses of Ontario and Ontario law, which is longer.
This site is served over an encrypted connection. Our booking and clinical records sit inside Jane, which is purpose built for regulated health practices. No system is perfect, and we will tell you promptly if a breach ever puts your information at real risk of harm.
Our services are for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18 through this website.
If we change this policy we will update the date at the top of this page. Material changes will be flagged on the site.
